I’m Lala. This is my corner of the internet for thinking out loud, exploring ideas, following questions, and occasionally wandering quite a long way down a rabbit hole.
Some of what I write starts with something happening in the world. Some comes from history, spirituality, technology, work, or simply something I’ve been wondering about. The subject moves around a lot, some days it’s a systems collapse or a policy nobody’s talking about, other days it’s precolonial Philippine history that never made it into a textbook, a tarot spread, or a theory the mainstream dismissed before actually checking it. Sometimes I’ll be looking at something serious. Sometimes something strange. Sometimes something completely random that caught my attention at 2am. That’s part of the fun.
Diwang Malaya roughly evokes a free mind, or liberated thought. That’s the spirit I want this place to have.
I want this to be a place where ideas can be explored without having to arrive at a predetermined answer. Where it’s okay to say, I don’t know yet. Where curiosity can lead somewhere without requiring certainty, and questioning something doesn’t automatically mean rejecting it.
I’m not here to convince you of anything. When I write about something, I try to be honest about whether I’m sharing research, established fact, interpretation, or speculation, because that distinction matters to me. I’m much more interested in understanding something than in proving I’m right.
Sometimes the most interesting place to be is somewhere between “I know” and “I don’t know.”
Ideas, rabbit holes, and everything in between. Look underneath the headlines with me.
Outside of writing, I’m a digital creative and freelancer, and my work takes me through AI, digital marketing, content, social media, CRM, funnels, and all the other interesting things that happen when creativity meets technology. I also offer tarot readings, and I’m building Tiny Letters, a way for mothers to leave their voice behind for their children, starting with letters I record for my own daughter.
Diwang Malaya is where those different parts of my curiosity get to coexist. There isn’t really a single box for all of it, and I’d rather keep it that way.
Welcome. Stay curious.
